Biography

Neural networks of the cortex and brainstem that support rapidly conditioned learning and the adaptive neural mechanisms essential for different rates of learning to take place Research Description: (1) Neural networks of cortex and brainstem that support rapidly conditioned learning; (2) Adaptive neural mechanisms involved in different rates of learning; (3) Intracellular membrane properties of four classes of cortical neurons in vivo: i) inactivating bursting neurons, ii) non-inactivating bursting neurons, iii) fast spiking neurons and iv) regularly spiking neurons; (4) Changes in cortical membrane currents after conditioning; (5) Cholinergic and glutamatergic neurotransmission; (6) Activity in dorsal and ventral cochlear nuclei, dentate nucleus, and cerebellum after conditioning and sensitization; (7) LTP in dorsal and ventral cochlear nuclei. ---------------------------------------------
