Project Archivist- Thomas J. Dodd Research Center
University Librarian ( Temporary 1 year position ) (Search #99A232)

Working in a team environment, the Project Archivist surveys,
selects, arranges, describes, and preserves the papers of naturalist
Edwin Way Teale and the Wilcox School of Nursing. The Project
Archivist works in close cooperation with other team members to plan
and tablish area goals and to assure that the established
collections and public service goals are met.Required qualifications
include:  M.L.S. with an archives specialization (minimum 9 credits)
or a graduate degree in an appropriate field with archives training;
six months manuscript processing experience, preferably in an
academic setting; excellent org izational, writing, and
communication skills; computer skills, including proficiency in the
use of Microsoft Word; ability to work effectively with researchers,
and Library and University staff and a commitment to quality
service; ability to perform the p sical activities associated with
archival environments including lifting, carrying, and climbing four
foot ladders with boxes of up to 20-25 pounds.

Preferred qualifications include: One year of manuscript processing
experience; subject knowledge in the areas of natural history,
literary or organizational collections. Salary range:  Hiring range
is up to $35,000, commensurate with experience.
