Dear Priyan Herath:
The "nuisance" to which you refer is discussion on the listserv
"HISTNEUR-L: The History of Neuroscience Forum". You subscribed to
HISTNEUR-L between 24 September and 7 December 1997, perhaps in
response to an announcement of the listserv on CADUCEUS-L,
H-SCI-MED-TECH or other list, or an announcment in _Journal of the
History of the Neurosciences_, or through a number of other routes.
I am sorry that you are bothered by the discussion that arose in
response to one of the subscriber's queries. This kind of discussion
is, in fact, one of the reasons neuroscience historians signed onto the
listserv--the query almost immediately elicited several responses which
are not only beneficial to the person who posted the question, but may
also be of interest to a number of other listserv readers.
Please be assured that I will delete your name and e-mail address from
the HISTNEUR-L roster. I am copying my message to list, by the way, in
order to alert other members that they may contact me if they have any
questions about administration of the list, including how to
"unsubscribe" (send the following message to LISTPROC@LIBRARY.UCLA.EDU:
UNSUB HISTNEUR-L).
Cheers,
Russell Johnson
