This event will celebrate the dedication of the Sadoff Library of Forensic
Psychiatry and Legal Medicine, a special collection newly donated to the
Library of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The Sadoff Library
has been described as "the largest collection of rare psychiatrica in
private hands," and "the finest collection of forensic psychiatry ever put
together." Charles Rosenberg describes the printed catalog of the Sadoff
Library - whose official publication date is also May 22 - as "an invaluable
guide not just to the history of legal medicine, but to what might be called
the history of deviance."
