ISHN news
ISHN members: - Those of you who did not receive renewal forms in December/January should be receiving bills for $105 (the combined fee for membership + Journal of the History of the Neurosciences). Some bills are going out under the Turpin/Extenza address and some, apparently, from Taylor & Francis. As you may be aware, Taylor & Francis bought our publisher Swets & Zeitlinger from Royal Swets (whose distribution arm was/is Turpin/Extenza; confusing, yes?), so there are changes afoot in how journals will be delivered and so forth. - If you _still_ have not received a renewal notice, please contact me (send a new email; do not hit "reply", because that will go to the entire list). - December 2003 journal issues are in the mail, and March 2004 will follow shortly. - Our website is back in service after being down temporarily; files were loaded on a new server with more security software. - The annual meeting preliminary program will be up on our website within a few days. ISHN President Ed Fine and the Program Committee are adjusting the schedule to give all the speakers the best times and arrangements possible (they are valiantly juggling things to try to prevent parallel or concurrent sessions except on the joint ISHN-TENNET day, for example). - In the meantime, if you will be in Montreal for the full ISHN or joint ISHN-TENNET meeting, please make reservations with one of the conference hotels. Folks who are waiting for the program in order to decide whether to arrive late or leave early should arrange accommodations as soon as we announce the schedule. - If you are a renewed/renewing/new member and have not submitted a data form for the online Membership Directory, and your information is changed or new, please submit the data form. The 2004 Directory will be online in April. I would especially like to encourage folks to update their "history of neuroscience research activities in progress and/or relevant projects" information, since other members (and non-members, too) find this illuminating. Thank you for your continued patience and good cheer as we resolve the membership renewal problems. Look forward to a pleasant and stimulating meeting in Montreal in June!
