Acute Intermittent Porphyria

March 8, 2004

An educational item for Wayne State University Medical School has been
constructed at the following site:
http://www.med.wayne.edu/elab/vangogh/MainIndex.htm

Key Words: Acute Intermittent Porphyria; Vincent van Gogh; History of
the Neurosciences.

The primary audience will be that medical school's first year students
in biochemistry discussion sessions. My colleague at WSU, Dr. Robert
Mitchell, believes that this program may have additional value as a
primer on medical diagnosis and organized skepticism.

The site will be connected with my paper, "The illness of Vincent van
Gogh," after it appears this year in Journal of the History of the
Neurosciences.

We would appreciate comments and evaluations.
