Re: Agnosia

Dear All,

Sorry if my question was not clear, but I wasn't after the meaning of the word agnosia.
Let me clarify things: Was the term agnosia introduced into neuroscience by Freud in
1891? If it was, why does Marianne Jackson translate the word 'Seelenblindheit' in
Lissauer's 1890 paper as 'visual agnosia'?

Thanks to Guenter Kraemer for the following: after agreeing that Freud introduced the
term, he sums it up nicely "In the earlier paper of Lissauer ... visual agnosia had
been described but not given that name." My thanks also to to Plinio Prioreschi and
Yves De Smet.
