DEADLINE EXTENDED -- Call for Abstracts: International Society for the History of the Neurosciences (ISHN: Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 26-29 June 2004)

DEADLINE EXTENDED to FEBRUARY 16

Ed Fine, ISHN President, asked me to relay the announcement that the
deadline for ISHN2004 abstract submission has been extended to Monday,
February 16. Tell your friends!

Because so many nasty viruses and worms are spamming the Internet, it
is very important that people who send their abstracts as email attachments
be sure to:

- include a meaningful Subject line (e.g. "Abstract for the ISHN
2004 annual meeting"); if the Subject line is blank, the message may
be deleted unopened and unread because it is suspected of carrying
a virus or worm
- include a message in the Body of the email message (e.g.: "Dear Ed:
I am attaching a file with my ISHN abstract. I checked the file with an
updated antivirus utility before attaching it. Please confirm
that you received and were able to read the attached file.")

cheers,

Russell Johnson
ISHN Secretary

Saturday, 26 June - Tuesday, 29 June 2004

The 9th annual meeting of the International Society for the History of the
Neurosciences (ISHN) will be held Saturday, 26 June to Tuesday, 29 June 2004,
on the campus and in the vicinity of the University of Quebec at Montreal
(Université du Québec à Montréal: http://www.uqam.ca). The ISHN encourages

basic and clinical specialties, ancient and non-Western topics, technical
advances, and broad social and cultural aspects.

The first day of the ISHN conference will be held in conjunction with TENNET XV,
the 15th meeting of Theoretical and Experimental Neuropsychology (June 24-26:
http://www.tennet.ca). The joint program day on Saturday, 26 June will explore
historical issues of brain function and cognition.

The structure of the ISHN meeting will be platform and poster papers as well as
thematic symposia, all to be refereed by the program committee. Platform papers
are normally about 15-20 minutes in duration followed by 5-10 minutes for discussion.
Thematic symposia consist of 3 or 4 platform papers submitted together on a specific
theme. Poster papers will be displayed on a poster board whose size is yet to
be determined.
