Smithsonian DOES HAVE funding to support fellowships this coming year, including for history of medicine, botany, medicinal plants, ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology. The application deadline is 15 January 2004. The funding allocation by Office of Fellowships to units (e.g. NMNH) is based on the number of applications (and fellowship months requested) to each unit. Thus, the more students who apply for a fellowship at NMNH, the more funding available to support them.
