This year there is no scheduled History of Neuroscience Social. However,
my colleague and friend Dan Barth is passing me the torch of hosting our
annual Monday Night Football party. So, I'd like to invite all
neurohistorians to join us at my place (SpringHill Suites, 301 St.
Joseph, in the Warehouse District across from the Convention Center)
on Monday at 8pm -- RSVP (off the list, of course--do NOT hit "reply"
here; or at the meeting--I'll visit the history and teaching posters
on Saturday) so I'll be able to lay in enough beer and soft drinks
(or BYOB) and munchies. Like at my annual Rose Bowl open house party
on January 1st, the football game itself quickly becomes video wallpaper
instead of the centerpiece, so not to worry if you aren't an Eagles or
Packers fan! If there isn't enthusiasm for this, then we may be able to
arrange a neurohistory lunch during the meeting (this tends to be difficult,
though, because of the huge crowds descending on all eateries within walkng
distance of the Convention Center.)

Cheers,

Russell Johnson

Secretary, International Society for the History of the Neurosciences (ISHN)
Member (as of November), SfN Committee on the History of the Neurosciences
