Want to meet peers and faculty in your field? Hungry? Looking for something to do at 7am on Friday morning? This year, the AAHM is sponsoring a breakfast meeting organized for and by graduate students with the collaboration of faculty to specifically address the needs and interests of the graduate student community in the history of medicine. Issues to be discussed include: *Organization of a Student Section within AAHM *Planning for the 1st Joint Atlantic Seminar in the History of Medicine (for and by graduate students) this October 3-4, 2003 at Johns Hopkins *Developing a database of contact information and general historical interests (i.e. American, comparative, modern, medieval, etc.) for graduate students in different cities, useful for exchanging syllabi and when traveling for archival research, conferences, etc. *Establishing an interest-specific cross-institutional mentoring *Professional development: publication strategies and the job market Thanks to the generous support of the AAHM, faculty and institutions across the country, this breakfast is FREE to all students attending the AAHM Annual Conference. HOWEVER, you MUST register for this meeting as space is limited. You can register for the conference at www.aahmreg.org/ or by mail-in registration form - but be sure to check the box for the grad student breakfast in either format and note the DEADLINE IS MARCH 28.
