SUMMER HISTORY POSITION FOR GRADUATE STUDENT

The History of Medicine Division of the National Library of Medicine is
seeking to hire a graduate student with training in history of medicine
and/or science for the summer of 2003.  The position is full-time and
involves assisting in the development of a program to promote the Library as
a resource for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the history of
medicine, public health and the biomedical sciences.  Successful applicants
will be expected to undertake library and archival research, and to assist
in conference organization, website development and in other work of the
Division related to this program.  Candidates must apply through the
National Institutes of Health (NIH) summer internship program, and
application must be made online on the following website:

Application."   Do not answer items 7 and 8 as these are not required and
are not relevant to the  position.  Please be sure, however, to select

in item 9.  It is crucial that you notify David Cantor
(cantord@mail.nlm.nih.gov) or Paul Theerman (paul_theerman@nlm.nih.gov) 
that you are applying for the position, and please contact either of 
them if you have any questions.  Salary will be paid at the equivalent 
of the GS-7, Step 1 level (approximately $32,370), prorated for the 
period worked.  GS-7 level positions ordinarily require at least one 
full year of graduate education.
