Green" [christo@YORKU.CA] Subject: Announcement: New Isis Editor Sender: A Forum for Discussion of the History of the Philosophy of Science [HOPOS-L@listserv.nd.edu] Bernard Lightman of York University has been appointed by the History of Science Society to be the next Society Editor. The History of Science Society is the world's largest society dedicated to understanding science, technology, medicine, and their interactions with society in historical context. The Society's flagship publication, Isis, is the premier international journal dedicated to the history of science. Isis is a quarterly journal featuring topical articles and book reviews. Founded by George Sarton in 1912, Isis is currently edited by Margaret Rossiter at Cornell University and published and distributed by the University of Chicago Press. In conjunction with two Associate Editors, The Society Editor also oversees another journal, Osiris, which produces annual thematic volumes devoted to a single topic of wide interest to the history of science community, and the Isis Current Bibliography.
