"We invite proposals for papers (of 15-20 minutes duration) on any 
aspect of experimentation and/or innovation in the nineteenth century, 
including Victorian avant gardes, experimentation and innovation in 
music, literature or the visual and plastic, arts, new technologies 
(and the responses to them), innovatory thinking or practice in the 
sciences (including experimentation and new developments in medical 
disciplines, and the emergence of 'new' sciences), innovatory forms of 
cultural production, social and sexual experimentation, the  concern 
with the 'new'."
