In the Middle Ages, a "caputpurge" (caputpurgius, caputpurgium – evidently

According to Taddeo Alderotti, alcohol (aqua vite)was good for chronic
headaches "if a caputpurge is made with it;" Guglielmo da Varignana says
"...with oil of anise, oil of crocus, oil of chamomile make a
caputpurgium..."

Would anybody know how a “caputpurge” was made?

Thanks,
