Thus, someone may apply for membership now and submit an abstract for the History of Neuroscience poster session at the annual meeting in the fall. JOURNAL OF NEUROSCIENCE OFFERS FREE COLOR ILLUSTRATIONS The need for color illustrations in presenting research results continues to increase. Recognizing this need, the Journal of Neuroscience will be offering free color illustrations to authors who qualify. ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS FOR ORLANDO MEETING OPENS IN MARCH The Society for Neuroscience will soon be accepting abstracts for its 32nd Annual Meeting, November 2-7, in Orlando, Florida. A postcard reminder will be sent to all members in March when the Abstract submission site goes live. (Members will also be alerted by e-mail). The card will provide instructions for accessing the online abstract submission form and a phone number for individuals without Internet access to have an abstract submission packet mailed to them. The paper RECEIPT deadline is Monday, April 22 and the electronic submission deadline is Monday, May 6. Please visit the Society Web site at http://www.sfn.org for additional information. 3. NEW ROLLING MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURE EXTENDS APPLICATION TIME The Society for Neuroscience is pleased to announce a new rolling membership application procedure that eliminates the spring and fall deadlines and allows for the submission of membership applications at any time during the year. The criteria for membership continue unchanged, including being active in the field of neuroscience, or a related field, and being sponsored by two regular or emeritus members.
