Re: Brain banking



I failed to add in my earlier message that two other collections that 
should also be mentioned are those at the Mütter Museum at the 
College of Physicians in Philadelphia and the Wistar Brain Collection 
at the Wistar Institute, also in Philadelphia.  The latter consists 
of prominent individuals who donated their brains for study by Edward 
Spitzka and the American Anthropometric Society, including William 
Osler and Walt Whitman.  There is a growing literature on anatomy 
museums and anatomical collections, particularly in Germany and the 
United States, which may give you one segue to the topic.
