Re: early names in glial history



Bingo, hit the jackpot. Try Gardner, E (1975). Fundamentals of
Neurology, 6th ed. Saunders, p. 65.

The man is Otto Friedrich Karl Deiters (1834-1863), and a brief
bio is provided.  Gardner himself credits for this "in part"

van der Loos, H. (1967). The History of the Neuron in:
  Hyden, H. (ed.) The Neuron. Elsevier.
