early names in glial history

This looks like just the list serve I need. I am writing a story about
astrocytes for Science News and have two small gaps I've been unable
to fill. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know the first name of O. Dieters, for whom Dieters cells
were named? He first identified these cells, what we now know as glia,
as distinct from neurons in 1865. (Ref: Dieters, "Untersuchungen uber
Gehirn und Ruckenmark des Menschen und der Saugethiere," M. Schultze,
ed. F Vieweg u. Sohn, Braunschweig, 318pp.)

Also, there appears to be some difference of opinion as to how Golgi's
bit of brain ended up in a bath of silver nitrate, clearly staining
the various brain cells for the first time. It may be a minor point,
but does anyone know whether he lost the sample in the solution or his
cleaning lady dropped it in?

Thanks so much!
