Prize: Call for Nominations [2nd announcement] -- ISHN Award for Outstanding Article in the History of the Neurosciences (International Socety for the History of the Neurosciences)



The following announcement is re-posted (it first appeared 21 
November 2000) on behalf of Dr. Paul Eling, President of the 
International Society for the History of the Neurosciences (ISHN).

deadline: 1 April 2001.

ISHN Award for Outstanding Article in the History of the Neurosciences 

In order to promote outstanding and original scholarship in the 
history of the neurosciences, the International Society for the History 
of the Neurosciences (ISHN, <http://www.ishn.org>) will award a 
biennial prize to the author or authors of an article published in its 
_Journal of the History of the Neurosciences_ (JHN).  This prize will 
be awarded at ISHN annual meetings held in odd-numbered years.  It will 
first be presented at the ISHN meeting in Cologne, Germany, 13-16 June 
2001 <http://www.ishn.org/call2001.htm> .

General Rules:  Articles must have been published in the _Journal of 
the History of the Neurosciences_ 
<http://www.swets.nl/sps/journals/jhn.html>  in the three years 
preceding the year of the award.  For the 2001 award, the article must 
have appeared in 1998 (volume 7), 1999 (volume 8), or 2000 (volume 9). 
Articles may be by a single author or by multiple authors, and the 
author(s) may be from any academic discipline.  Authors who wish to be 
considered for this prize are asked to send the citation of the paper 
to the Chair of the ISHN Awards and Prizes Committee:

Articles may also be nominated by JHN readers in the same way. 

Nominations must be received no later than 1 April 2001.
