Re: Marie de Manaceine = Mariya Mikhailovna Manaseina ( -1903)

Stan:

Bingo! I missed a couple of volumes of the _Index Catalogue of the
Library of the Surgeon-General's Office_ ("Index Cat") when I checked
before. WorldCat indexes your author as "Manacéïne, Marie de". Many
printed indexes would do this as "De Manaceine, Marie", or "De
Manaseina, Marie" following your suggested alternative. The Index Cat,
however, uses her full Russian name: Manaseina, Mariya M[ikhailovna],
as cites her death date at 1903. Using this, I checked WorldCat
again--where her name has little "authority control" but is spelled in
various manners (e.g., Maria, Mariia, Mar'ia); search "Manaseina" as an
author, and you will retrieve several of her works.

See also v.8 (series 1, 1897) and v.10 (series 2, 1905) of the Index
Cat. The latter, on p. 98, cites for biography: Oborz. psichiatr.
nevrol. [etc.], S.-Peterb., 1903, viii, 239. I'd recommend checking
with Slava Lichterman on the full title and its availability.

Cheers,

Russell
