dear members of the ishn

We started the third millenium well: the conference in Rhode Island was a
success. Moreover, Stan Finger and Peter Koehler have been excellent
captains on the JHN-ship. Their enthusiasm and hard work over the last
years has resulted in an increasing flow of very fine manuscripts. The fact
that the journal is now becoming incorporated in the journal indices is
very gratifying and a major milestone (have to mark that for a future
neuro-anniversary). It seems to me that we are also attracting the
interest of young historians, ensuring a continuation of the society.
Some of us do history for a living, all of us do it for fun. There is room
for all sorts of historians in our society. There is even room for more
members: there is a large potential among the readers of our Histneur-L list.

I wish you all a historic new year and I hope to see you at the conference
in Cologne!

Paul Eling
president
