Seaplane Cruise Around the World

Journal of a Seaplane Cruise Around the World
Part 4 -- North America

The final chapter of Dr. Richard U. Light's 1934-35 journey is now available
at

http://www.neurosurgery.org/cybermuseum/summary.html

This portion of the journal focuses on places and people. It begins with a
description of Dr. Light and Bob Wilson's steamer trip across the Pacific
with members of the 1934 All-American Baseball Team. He then describes
their flights south along the West Coast of the United States, just missing
the arrival of Amelia Earhart by one day on her historic flight between
Honolulu and Oakland, California. Dr. Light's angst is apparent at having
forgotten to check in with the Mexican authorities upon entering their
territory. And, you can feel his mounting excitement as he gets closer to
home. With this final portion of the Journal, we have included the list of
materials that he and Bob took with them on their five month journey.

Thank you for joining us at the Cyber Museum of Neurosurgery. Any comments
and suggestions for future Special Exhibits will be greatly appreciated.
