National Library of Medicine's Profiles in Science

The National Library of Medicine's Profiles in Science site, a
digital archive of distinguished biomedical researchers, is going
to expand soon in two ways,

By about November 5, we will be adding a new site devoted to Dr.
Martin Rodbell, who won the Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology
in 1994 for his work in signal transduction in cells and the
discovery of the role of "G-proteins" in this mechanism.

In the month of November we will be releasing many more documents
scanned from the Joshua Lederberg Papers. This site was released
to the public in March 1999, as an exhibit site with some documents
directly addressable from the exhibit, but many more reachable through
three different search and display engines. This new release will add
several hundred new documents in this latter, "behind-the-scenes" manner.

Our posting just closed for the position of Digital Manuscripts
Program Manager/Senior Archivist for Digital Projects, and we
hope to fill the position by the end of the calendar year.

The Profiles in Science site address is http://www.profiles.nlm.nih.gov/
