JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The History of Medicine Division, National Library of Medicine, Bethesda,
MD, anticipates recruiting up to three professional archivists for permanent
federal positions in its Modern Manuscripts or Digital Manuscripts Programs.
For the Modern Manuscripts Program, experience in curatorship of personal
papers and manuscripts collections is desirable.  For the Digital
Manuscripts Program, experience with "traditional" archives or manuscripts
collections, experience in project management, and familarity with digital
technology is desirable.

Paul Theerman, Head, Non-Book Collections, History of Medicine Division,
NLM, will be at the Archivists' Career Center, Society of American
Archivists annual meeting, Pittsburgh, PA, on Thursday, August 26, to answer
questions about the programs and the positions.  If you are unable to see
him there, he may be reached, from August 30th on, at the NLM at (301)
594-0975 as well as paul_theerman@nlm.nih.gov.
