JOB: history of Ford lab

Forwarded to STHC-L from H-SCI-MED-TECH.

Is Darleen Flaherty still archivist at the Ford Industrial Archives in
Dearborn (I don't have an email address for her and there's no
website for the FIA, that I can find)? Does she (or her successor)
know about this project?

Note that the original poster is also asking to be contacted by folks
who have had experience with similar retrospective volumes. There must
be at least a couple dozen archivists on this list who have been
there/done that, yes?

A Ford Research team is looking for a technical/historian writer to help
generate a "50th year Commemorative Volume" as the Research Lab
celebrates that milestone in 2001. This person should be knowledgeable of
R&D, the history of science & technology, the drivers of societal change,
etc. - AND A FIRST-RATE AUTHOR! Potential candidates might be at
universities (history-of-science faculties), in IRI member companies, or
free-lance writers.

If you have specific suggestions (names), either (1) forward this request
to that person so they can contact Jim, or (2) inform Jim about that
person. Also - if you or your organization have personal experience/
knowledge doing a similar retrospective volume, please contact Jim.

Thanks for your help!
