[Previous Posting] [Next Posting] HIPAA Covered Entities & Access Appeals
Dear STHC Colleagues, We are currently revising our access policies and procedures at Children’s Hospital Boston in order to provide broader access to our collections. We have gathered a lot of information from other “covered entities” detailing HIPAA compliant access policies. We would like to provide researchers with the option to appeal decisions by the hospital that deny them access to records. Thus, we need to iron out an appeal process. Do any of your institutions have such a process in place and if so, would you be willing to share it with us? Thank you for your help with this matter. Sheila R.
