[Previous Posting] [Next Posting] American Society for Medical Technology (ASMT) records
Hello, I am looking for information pertaining to the American Society for Medical Technology (ASMT)/American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) and a possible home for the Society's records. At the University of Minnesota, there are five plus (5+) filing cabinets of material related to the ASMT from its inception in 1933 to the mid-1970s. These are non University of Minnesota materials. The collection was passed along to a faculty member who has since retired. She explained that the Society is unable to care for the records themselves and that instead they have been maintained over time by select members. It is primarily used by Med Tech faculty and history of medical education scholars for research purposes. I am unable to accession what would essentially be the ASMT archives into the institutional records of the Academic Health Center at the University Archives. If anybody has any information about an existing archival program for ASMT/ASCLS or has suggestions regarding possible locations for the material, please contact me for further information. Thank you, Erik Erik Moore Archivist, Academic Health Center University of Minnesota MMC 501 420 Delaware St. SE Minneapolis, MN 55455 tel. 612-625-4665 fax 612-626-2111 ____________________________________________________________ STHC-L - Science, Technology, and Health Care Archives Forum STHC-L@lists.ucla.edu http://lists.ucla.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/sthc-l STHC-L@lists.ucla.edu STHC-L Archives -- Main Index STHC-L Archives -- 2007 Message Index |
