The rationale for the increase is presented in my article in the March/April 2007 issue of Archival Outlook entitled, “Dues: SAA’s Renewable Resource” (see page 12 of the PDF at http://www.archivists.org/periodicals/ao_backissues/AO_March_07.pdf ). I would like to ask you, as a leader of SAA, to share your comments and suggestions with SAA Executive Director Nancy Beaumont (nbeaumont@archivists.org) and me (annr@nedcc.org). Is there any information that is missing? What feedback are you hearing from other SAA members? In the coming months, the Council will be including messages about the dues increase in various SAA media. We ask for your support in explaining the importance of this long-overdue increase to SAA members and especially in speaking effectively on behalf of the dues increase at the business meeting in Chicago. Your input is important at this time as we take this matter forward to the membership.
