Collection Curator, Medical Heritage Center Prior Health Sciences Library 
The Ohio State University

The Medical Heritage Center (MHC) at the Prior Health Sciences Library, 
The Ohio State University, is seeking a special collections professional 
to serve in the position of collections curator.

This position will provide daily management of MHC collections 
including archival, rare book, artifact and digital collections 
management; hire, supervise, and evaluate students and volunteer 
staff; respond to reference inquiries; participate in educational 
workshops and public relations, development, and grant writing 
activities. This individual will also participate in the planning 
and execution of exhibits, special events, and programming and 
will assume responsibilities for activities of MHC in absence of 
head curator.

Required Qualifications
Masters degree in archives, American studies, history, or library 
sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 
and library cataloguing and classifying experience.

Desired Qualifications
Experience working with rare books, archives, artifacts, and digital 
collections; supervisory experience; familiarity with digital library 
project planning and implementation; knowledge of digital library 
software, encoded archival description (EAD) and web design programs; 
and experience working with health sciences history collections.
