The UCLA Neuroscience History Archives will have an exhibitor’s booth in the
Non-Profit row at next week’s Society for Neuroscience meeting in Atlanta
(http://www.sfn.org). Our chief aim is to consult with emeriti/ae and retiring
scientists, clinicians, and administrators about what to do with their own and
lab/department/business/etc. archives.

Please be aware we are not poaching on other repositories’ turfs. In fact,
our primary aim is to make scientists aware of their local repositories and
put them in touch with you (to share the workload ... i mean, wealth). So,
this is a heads up, in case you are contacted following the meeting!

If you would like to send a brochure to include in our on-hand literature
table, lease send it ASAP to me at the address that gets things to me quickest:

History & Special Collections Division
Louise Darling Biomedical Library, UCLA
Los Angeles CA 90095-1798

If you have a “neuro” focus or component and wish to make a _bunch_ of literature
available, send it to my attention (noting I arrive 10/12) at my hotel:

Holiday Inn
130 Clairemont Avenue
Decatur GA 30030
(404) 371-0204

Finally – I anticipate lots of questions along the lines of, “what about my _books_?”
We no longer have a Gifts Department which sells off duplicates and out-of-scope books,
so we are more picky about what 20th century books we take in the first place. But I
would like to hear good advice to pass along to scientists about their books—which
are close to their hearts, you know, so one has to speak gently. If you do have
advice/addresses/etc., send it back to the entire list (sthc-l@lists.ucla.edu)
(remember that hitting “Reply” sends a message just to me, not the entire list).

Thanks!

Russell
