The APD's duties will include: * Managing and promoting the NCSE archives; * Organizing and assessing the value of existing holdings; * Developing a digital archive and publishing selected items on the website; * Preserving endangered and damaged items; * Maintaining and developing book, video, audio, media, and periodicals collections; * Maintaining archive- and publication-related sections of the website and monitor web activity; * Assisting in the maintenance of shelf files and other reference files; * Inventorying and archiving donated archival collections; * Promoting and making these resources available to the NCSE's staff and to interested members of the public; * Assisting with scanning, slide duplication, and other media activities; * Supervising work-study students and volunteer assistants Attention to detail, flexibility, computer literacy, and ALA-accredited MLS or comparable work experience essential; knowledge of creation/evolution controversy, biology, and/or history of science preferred. Full-time permanent position with medical benefits in Oakland, California, to start as soon as possible. Salary commensurate with experience and competitive with similarly sized non-profits.
