Board of Trustees and Overseers, and Principal Officers.

QUALIFICATIONS: M.A. in American History and M.L.S. degree, or equivalent training
and experience. Must have familiarity with descriptive archival standards and
procedures. Basic computer literacy required, including familiarity with MS Office

special collections library. Experience with FileMaker Pro database software. Specific
academic subject knowledge and competency in the history of California is strongly
desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment and diverse library stacks and
storage
areas. Must be able to handle rare materials with care and exercise caution in
handling heavy loads.

BENEFITS:

package which includes vacation, paid sick leave, holiday pay, an Employee Assistance
Program, access to the Caltech Credit Union, Recreation facilities, and Caltech Staff
Development and Training programs. Additionally the successful applicant will qualify
for the Huntington’s medical plan, life insurance & long-term disability plan, voluntary
dental plan, TIAA/CREF retirement plan, and the pre-tax flexible spending accounts
for eligible medical and dependent care expenses. Further benefits details can be
