[Previous Posting] [Next Posting] Addendum to Message re: Session Proposals
In addition to yesterday’s message I wanted to add the following: The STHC co-chairs, Janice Goldblum and I, and Steering Committee members are available to advise on how to develop and pitch/word their proposals, as well as suggest possible speakers to add to a panel if you're coming up one short. The meeting is July 31 - August 6, 2006 in Washington DC. It is a joint meeting of SAA, the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators, and the Council of State Historical Records Coordinators. As such, the program committee notes: "An important goal of the 2006 meeting is to broaden our perspectives and to focus on the commonalities between archivists and records managers working in different spheres. The Committee actively seeks proposals that incorporate the concerns of those working in government settings and that address topics of concern to all the sponsoring groups. Proposals that address other aspects of contemporary archival theory and practice also are strongly encouraged and welcome." Again, a couple URL’s to know: The Call for Proposals is on the SAA website at http://www.archivists.org/conference/dc2006/proposals2006.asp . Suggestions and tips for preparing a successful proposal are also on the SAA website at http://www.archivists.org/conference/proposals101/.
