I am currently removing all of the pharmaceuticals from the collection and isolating them. We have preparations dating from the War of 1812 to WWII and even some more recent. I would like to know from those of you who have these in their collections how you deal with them. 1) Do you isolate them? 2) Do you dispose of the contents... keeping the containers? or 3) Do you keep them intact? 4) Have you ever used them in an exhibit? What precautions do you take? And any other advice you might give me would be greatly appreciated.
