Joan, Congratulations on a wonderful piece of work. Though I probably shouldn't ask, I will anyway. What consideration (if any) did you give to HIPAA issues before or during the creation of the exhibit? A group of us met here in NY a week or so ago, and once again it seems clear that no one (even those who wrote the privacy rule) know exactly how to apply HIPAA to historic Protected Health Information (PHI). The names are PHI, and I believe you folks would be considered a covered entity. Did it enter in the discussion at all? I'm inclined to go with the idea that if the people are dead, you can do what you like, but I know others don't approach it this way. Anyway, I'm curious.
