Located within easy commute of the Washington, DC area. http://library.gsfc.nasa.gov The Access Services Team provides circulation, document delivery, inter-library loan, and stack maintenance at the Goddard Library. The Information Navigation Team provides reference and ready-reference services to patrons as well as Web Site content. The Team Leader coordinates these Library services and will be innovative, energetic and customer service-oriented. Specifically, the Access Services/Information Navigation Team Leader: - Coordinates and supervises the Access Services/Information Navigation Team, including assignment and monitoring of tasks and overall performance - Serves as the principal liaison with the Project Manager for project progress pertaining to access and navigation services - Responsible for oversight of all user services activities, including compiling and reporting metrics data and departmental representation in oral and written reporting - Provides innovative and creative leadership of library operations and services, which includes developing Web tools and electronic access to information that better serves library users - Takes the lead in ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of Library resources and services - Provides reference service to users including ready-reference and subject information retrieval. Requires - Masters degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited college or university - Requires 5 years experience in providing in-depth research and reference services in science, technology, or business. - Requires supervisory experience along with progressively responsible professional duties in an operations section of a library - Requires a strong customer service orientation as well as organizational, communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work independently and as a team member - Demonstrated ability to work well on collaborative projects, interest in emerging technologies and ongoing professional development - Leadership and technical skills to establish an exciting and effective presence for the Library Electronic Correspondence Preferred.
