Re: Informal archives staffing survey

Jim,

Don't know if our lab qualifies--we're a federally funded research and
development center, mostly funded by NSF.

1) Name of your organization
National Center for Atmospheric Research

2) Size of membership
N/A

3) Size of staff (entire organization--full-time equivalent, if that makes a difference)
1,300 FTE

4) Annual budget (entire organization)
~$200 million

5) Size of archives staff (full-time equivalent--separate professional and
  para-professional if appropriate)
1.75 FTE

6) Date (year) your archives was established
1984

7) Size of archival collections in cubic or linear feet (separate processed and unprocessed if possible)
2400 cu ft

8) Do you have library, records management, or similar "allied professional" responsibilities
in addition to your archival duties? If so, please give your best estimate of the percentage of
your time devoted to those responsibilities.
Yes, we have records management responsibilities. My .75 FTE
records manager takes care of those duties.

9) Do you have any current plans for up-sizing or down-sizing of your archives staff?
Up-sizing--never. Down-sizing--we hope not. Depends on science
budgets over the next four years...
