New STHC Steering Committee members

Hi everyone,

I'm writing on behalf of the cochair, Joan Echtenkamp Klein, and myself to welcome three
new members to the Steering Committee of the SAA Science, Technology and Health Care
Roundtable: Dharma Fowler, Alison Oswald, and Paul Theerman . And we would like to thank
Dan Lewis of the Huntington Library and Yvonne Wilson of the National Archives, who rotated
off the Committee during the annual meeting at SAA, for their service.

Dharma Fowler is the new student rep, a position that's been vacant for the past year. She's in
the archives program at the University of Michigan and is working with Margaret Hedstrom on a
NHPRC-funded project to document Internet2. Alison Oswald is with the Smithsonian's Lemelson Center
for the Study of Invention and Innovation, and Paul Theerman is in the History of Medicine Division
of the National Library of Medicine. Paul and Alison are both with major federal archives, a slot
that was unrepresented with Yvonne Wilson's departure, and they come from important STHC institutions
that haven't been included on the Steering Committee for a long time. We're looking forward to working
with them and all the members of the Committee(for a list see
http://www.archivists.org/saagroups/sthc/members.html) .

On a personal note, I want to thank my cochair during the past year, Jean Deken, who carried
most of the load. Only time will tell how successful she's been in inculcating in me the intricacies
of STHC, but it was great working with her. And I would like to welcome Joan Echtenkamp Klein, this
year's incoming cochair. Finally, thanks to all the members of the STHC Roundtable for your interest
and involvement.

Regards,

Joe Anderson
