Medical Records Organizations?

Forwarded to STHC-L (The Science, Technology and Health Care Archives
Forum) from ARCHIVES.

This is also a good time to remind folks about the STHC Roundtable
program at the upcoming SAA meeting:
http://www.archivists.org/conference/la2003/la2003prog-Detail.asp?event=835

Saturday, August 23, 2003
8:00 AM-9:30 AM

This meeting will include a discussion of archival repositories’
compliance with the Privacy Rule of HIPAA. Archivists from 3 major
academic health centers -- Nancy McCall from the Johns Hopkins Medical
Institutions, Steve Novak from Columbia University Medical Center, and
Tim Pennycuff from the University of Alabama at Birmingham -- will each
present an overview of the policies their repositories have
implemented, and assess how these policies in practice meet the
challenges of the HIPAA legislation. There will be opportunity for
roundtable members to share information about their own experiences
with HIPAA compliance.

Regular business will conclude with a "Roundtable Roundrobin/STHC
Slam," in which attendees get 3 minutes apiece to pitch their
repositories, organizations, projects, products, problems, and ideas.

[N.B.: Since this program is presented at the annual business meeting
of a Roundtable, it is not scheduled to be audiotaped.]

Greetings,

I have never posted to this list before. I just got appointed to the
position of Medical Records Supervisor for a Mental Health facility. I
am in charge of 2 dept. Active as well as closed charts. I am looking
for organizations and continuing education events for Medical Records.

If you post to the list can you please also send a copy of the
information to me individually?

I thank you for your assistance.

everybody goes ""Awwwwww!"
