The Center for History of Physics is seeking an Assistant Archivist
knowledgeable about current web
technologies as well as archival arrangement and description. The Assistant
Archivist will work with a team of archivists, historians and librarians and
is responsible for participating in all aspects of electronic information
used within the Center, including XML-EAD, HTML, PDF, MARC, and electronic
archival records. The Assistant Archivist will contribute to the arrangement
and description of archival records and manuscripts, as well as to the
Center's current documentation research project. Duties include maintaining
the Library's integrated library system (epixtech Horizon), the Physics
History Finding Aids web site ( http://www.aip.org/history/ead/ ), and
various other automated systems. The Center for History of Physics is
located in College Park, MD, and is easily accessible from throughout the
Washington/Baltimore area.
