Re: information on databases for archives collection

I haven't seen a response yet, so here is my offering.

We recently developed an EAD complient MS Access tool for creating
finding aids down to the box and folder level. It is designed to
facilitate creation of an EAD instance, but can also be used alone
without taking that final step. It would be easy to search at the
collection level or the box level; or if you're feeling ambitious lay
some Cold Fusion or PHP on top and have a web based search mechanism.

I'm happy to send you a copy of the databse and can help you configure
it for your local specs if necessary. Better yet, attend my session at
SAA Thursday at 3:30 and learn about this tool, plus two others, for
creating easy EAD.
