STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
The International Association for Social Science Information Service
and Technology (IASSIST) invites you to its 29th annual conference to
be held at the University of Ottawa (www.uottawa.ca) in the heart of
Canada's national capital. Plan to join us on May 27-30, 2003.
SOCIAL EVENTS
Participants are invited to a welcome reception Tuesday evening at
the new site of the National Archives.
The annual banquet will be an evening of dinner and dancing aboard
one of Ottawa's famous river boats along the Ottawa River with
spectacular views of both sides of the Ottawa river including
the Parliament buildings and Museum of Civilization. This event
will be held on Thursday May 29th. Accompanying family and friends
are also welcome. Tickets must be bought in advance.
TRANSPORTATION
The University of Ottawa and the Novotel Hotel are both located
in downtown Ottawa. There are several shuttle services available
from the airport to the hotel. Taxi fare from the airport to
downtown is approximately $25 (CAD).
ACCOMMODATIONS
Rooms have been reserved at the Novotel Hotel for the conference
at the special rate of $139 (CAD$) per room. Reservations must
be made by April 9, 2003 to ensure this rate. Please contact the
hotel directly at (613) 230-3033. Be sure to identify yourself
as an IASSIST conference attendee to receive this rate. Please
note; room cancellations may be made up to 6pm on the day reserved.
Alternate accommodations are available at the university's new
residence for a special rate of $84.95 (CAD$) for a two bedroom
suite. IASSIST conference rate applies until April 9, 2003.
