SAVE AMERICA'S TREASURES

The National Park Service has posted guidelines for the FY 2003 Save
America's Treasures grant competition at
http://www2.cr.nps.gov/treasures/index.htm.

Save America's Treasures grants are available for preservation and/or
conservation work on nationally significant intellectual and cultural
artifacts. Applications are evaluated and administered by the National Park
Service in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the
National Endowment for the Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library
Services, and the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.

The receipt deadline is March 20, 2003, for projects to begin no earlier
than September 2003. Treasures grants range from $50,000 to $1,000,000
(though the average actual award has been considerably less) and require a
one-for-one cost share on the part of the institution.

Detailed information about eligibility, review criteria, and previous years'
awards, as well as complete contact information, is available on the web
site.
