Assistant Archivist, Center for History of Physics, American Institute of

The position requires an archivist knowledgeable about current web
technologies as well as archival arrangement and description. The Assistant
Archivist works with a team of archivists, librarians, and historians and is
responsible for participating in all aspects of electronic information used
within the Center, including XML-EAD, HTML, PDF, MARC, and electronic
archival records. This position will contribute to the arrangement and
description of archival records and manuscripts, as well as to documentation
research projects. Duties include maintaining the Library's integrated
library system (epixtech Horizon), the Physics History Finding Aids web site
(http://www.aip.org/history/ead/), and various other automated
systems. The Niels Bohr Library in the Center for History of Physics is
located in AIP's College Park headquarters location.
