Special Collections Institutes Summer 2003 at UIUC



Special Collections Summer Institutes

The Graduate School of Library and Information Science and the Rare Book and 
Special Collections Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign 
will be offering four short courses/institutes during the summer of 2003.  
These Special Collections Institutes will provide four programs of interest to 
library and information professionals, book lovers, and teachers.  Courses 
include:

Special Collections in the Sciences, May 19-23, 2003 with Robin Rider, 
Associate Director for Collection Development, Management, and Preservation 
for the General Library System, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Library Fundraising, June 10-12, 2003 with Victoria Steele, Head of Special 
Collections, University of California, Los Angeles.

Teaching Using Primary Source Material, July 14-18, 2003, with Barbara Jones, 
Head of the Rare Book and Special Collections Library, University of Illinois 
at Urbana-Champaign.

History of the Book, August 4-8, 2003, with Sidney Berger, faculty at Simmons 
College and recent Director of the California Center for the Book.
