Re: scientific awards

I am not aware of a definitive list, but for Brooke and anyone else who is
interested, here are:

1.) a link to the National Academy of Science's awards:
http://www4.nationalacademies.org/nas/nasaward.nsf/urllinks/$$PubAlphaList?opendocument&count=50000

2.) Here's one to the National Academy of Engineering's awards:
http://www.nae.edu/nae/naehome.nsf/weblinks/NAEW-4NHMQN?opendocument

3.) And to the Institute of Medicine's: http://www.iom.edu/IOM/IOMHome.nsf/

These give information on the medal or award, its history, procedures, and past
awardees. If you want more detailed
information on our awards, let me know.

We have a 1956 copy of a book titled Handbook of Scientific and Technical
Awards: United States and Canada: 1900 -1952.
It was published by the Special Libraries Association. I looked in Alibris to
see if there were later versions, but only find this
edition listed.
