Susan,
This is a good idea, and follows up on issues raised in some of the
sessions in Birmingham. You should be aware, though, that records
containing health information on individuals carry a whole extra set of
issues, due to new privacy regulations. So I would recommend that you
decide whether or not you want to include health records in your session.
If your concern is primarily cultural/anthropological records, throwing
health records in would change the focus of your session.
Another tip -- that I should have included in my announcement to the
Listserv yesterday -- Make sure your speakers have agreed to participate in
the program. That greatly increases a proposal's chance of being accepted
by the Program Committee. (Also make sure that none of your speakers is on
another proposal. Apparently the Program Committee frowns on that.)
You might get some volunteers for speakers from this list. If not, I can
think of a few people who might be interested.
