February 20, 2002 marks the fortieth anniversary of John Glenn's historic
space flight aboard the Friendship 7 Mercury spacecraft. During this
flight Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth. To commemorate
the anniversary the John Glenn Archives located at The Ohio State
University has mounted a web exhibit featuring photographs, video and audio
recordings, and manuscripts from the archives documenting the space flight
and its impact upon the nation. The exhibit is available through the web
site of the John Glenn Archives at
