Women in Neuroscience award to Dr. Louise Marshall (Society for Neuroscience 31st annual meeting, San Diego, 10 November 2001)



We are very pleased to report that Dr. Louise H. Marshall, 
co-founder (with Horace W. Magoun) and Director Emerita of the UCLA 
Neuroscience History Archives, was honored by Women in Neuroscience 
(WIN) at their awards ceremony and reception during the Society for 
Neuroscience's recent meeting (10-15 November) in San Diego.

Dr. Marshall received special recognition from WIN for a lifetime 
of distinguished service and outstanding contributions to the field of 
neuroscience.

Women in Neuroscience (http://www.womeninneuroscience.org) is an 
international organization, founded in 1980 for the purpose of 
fostering the development and career advancement of women scientists in 
the field of neuroscience.  In the past 20 years, WIN has advocated for 
women scientists by providing resources for networking and advancement, 
including educational workshops and seminars and travel grants for postdoctoral, 
graduate, and undergraduate students to attend and present their 
research at the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting.
